Well the day finally arrived for Kaye and we were on board the Sea Princess and leaving on our 84-day cruise around South America and back to Sydney. We got on the ship around 3pm and it was then sorting out priorities, find the bar and start celebrating…………

The first port of call was in New Zealand at Auckland. This was a pleasant three day cruise from Sydney and gave us a good time to relax into the cruising lifestyle. Haven’t been to Auckland before and what a nice city it is. We bought an all-day bus pass and got around to most of the good sites and was an excellent way to see a little bit more of Auckland as you get to go through some of the suburbs as well. We both really liked Auckland but boy is the real estate expensive, makes Sydney seem like a bargain hunter’s paradise. We also picked up nearly 400 kiwis as well which will make for some good times on the cruise I’m sure.

From Auckland, we head for Tonga with a few relaxing sea days in between.
